Omoyele Sowore, Human Rights Activist and Publisher of Sahara Reporters, has vowed to stage the #FreeNnamdiKanu protests in Abuja as scheduled to hold on Monday October 20, 2025, Despite the warning by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Nigeria Police had earlier warned organizers of the protest against staging a demonstration within the Presidential Villa and other locations.
However, reacting during a press conference in Abuja on Sunday, Sowore confirmed that the protest will go on peacefully.
Sowore also disclosed that he was not served with any court ordered stopping the protest from going on as scheduled.
Recall that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had directed the FCT Police Command to beefed up Security and prevent any protest that could lead to violence and other criminal acts within and around the Federal Capital Territory.
