The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber and notorious cultist, identified as 22-year-old Odeshola Afeez, during an operation in the Ebute Metta area of the state.

The arrest followed a swift response by police operatives to a distress call from concerned residents who reported that a young man was harassing passers-by and causing panic within the community.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, operatives immediately mobilised to the scene upon receiving the report. The suspect was subsequently apprehended, and a search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, one cartridge, and local charms concealed in his possession.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a notorious cultist who had allegedly been terrorising residents and engaging in activities capable of disrupting public peace. Police authorities further disclosed that Afeez had reportedly evaded arrest on several occasions before his eventual capture.
