The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening digital policing and combating cybercrime following a visit by a delegation from the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association to its headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation, led by NECA Director-General, Wale-Smatt Oyerinde, visited the Centre as part of ongoing engagements aimed at deepening collaboration between the organisation and the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, the visit built on an earlier meeting between NECA leadership and the Inspector-General of Police.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Centre’s facilities, observed its operations, and held discussions on areas of collaboration in addressing cybercrime and enhancing digital security.
The statement noted that the delegation commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as well as officers and personnel of the Centre for their professionalism, dedication, and efforts in tackling cyber-related crimes.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the IGP, the Director of the NPF-NCCC, Akaninyene Ezima, said the Nigeria Police Force was actively building a modern framework for digital policing under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police.
Ezima expressed appreciation to the NECA delegation for the visit and for its willingness to support the work of the Centre.
He stressed that the Force remained committed to safeguarding Nigeria’s digital space through innovation, collaboration, and sustained investment in cybercrime prevention and response mechanisms.
The Inspector-General of Police also assured Nigerians that the NPF-NCCC would continue to evolve and strengthen efforts aimed at combating cybercrime across the country.
