Benue State Police Command said the response time of its operative in countering criminal element has greatly improved, calling on residents to avail the Nigeria Police timely information to nip crime in the bud in their communities.
CP Cletus Nwadiaogu, State Police Commissioner said the Command has repositioned its tactical teams and divisions to respond timely to any given situations across the state, which accounts for some of the command’s achievement.
While the Benue Police command continues to reposition itself to effectively tackle crime and criminality across the twenty three local governments, the Commissioner of Police disclosed that its operatives killed three armed bandits at Ukum, and rescues 8 kidnapped victims at Orakam. The CP said the divisions also foiled armed robbery operation and arrested the suspects within Makurdi and Gboko, including cultists with arms and ammunition.
The CP, who displayed some of the arms and ammunition recovered from the suspects, said they would be prosecuted as soon as the investigation is completed.
The CP called on members of the public to see the police as partners in the fight against crime.
