President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Sen. Dr Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission and nominated seven individuals as Federal Commissioners for the National Population Commission.

Ida, a former senator who represented Katsina Central, holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from University of Ibadan and a Law degree from University of Abuja. He previously served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
The President nominated Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi from Ekiti State, Nasiru Mu’azu from Zamfara State, Usman Abubakar Tuggar from Bauchi State, Dr Isaka Alada Yahaya from Kwara State, Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda from Katsina State, Suleiman Umar from Jigawa State, and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo from Sokoto State as Federal Commissioners in the National Population Commission. The nominations are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly.
In a related development, the President appointed Dr Yusuf Mohammed as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo.
Tinubu also confirmed the appointment of Bala Mohammed Bello as Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello, who hails from Taraba State, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University. He previously served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank between 2017 and 2022.
The President expressed confidence in the appointees, noting that their experience and expertise would support his administration’s efforts to improve the quality of life for Nigerians.
