Alleged Terrorism: Igbo Elders, Others Demand Kanu’s Release

Igbo elders have called on the on South East Governors to lead a delegation to President Ahmed Tinubu to press for release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu.

This is just as the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, will on Friday deliver it’s ruling on application for medical treatment filed by Nnamdi Kanu based on his health conditions.

The leaders in a statement states that Kanu’s continued incarceration was no longer tolerable just as they expressed worries over Kanu’s deteriorating health condition, and the disturbing insecurity in the South East.

In a letter addressed to the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, the Igbo leaders demanded the immediate and unconditional release” of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra,

Arguing that Kanu’s continued detention is of no advantage to the Federal Government, Igbo elders insisted that political solution is the only way to resolve his matter.

Meanwhile, a diasporan Igbo group, Ikenga Think -Tank, North America, has decried the insecurity and genocidal killings of innocent folks in the South East.

The group slammed security operatives for not doing enough to contain the insecurity in the zone, accusing them of complicity.
