IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu,
Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has assured residents of Ekiti State of adequate security and professional conduct by security personnel ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Disu gave the assurance on Thursday during the Election Stakeholders’ Meeting and Signing of the Peace Accord held in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the poll.
The event brought together officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, members of the National Peace Committee, political parties, candidates, traditional rulers, civil society organisations, security agencies, religious leaders, diplomats, and election observers.
The National Peace Committee delegation was led by former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, the IGP commended INEC and the National Peace Committee for promoting peaceful democratic participation and strengthening public confidence in the electoral process.
He particularly praised Abdulsalami Abubakar for his continued contributions to peace, national unity, and democratic stability in the country.
Disu reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security to ensuring a peaceful, secure, free, and credible election in Ekiti State.
The police chief disclosed that comprehensive deployment plans and operational strategies had been concluded for all 16 local government areas, 154 wards, and over 2,400 polling units across the state.
According to him, personnel and operational assets have been strategically positioned to guarantee the safety of voters, electoral officials, observers, and other participants during the election.
The IGP also assured that the Nigeria Police Force would remain professional and impartial throughout the election period.
He urged political actors and stakeholders to respect the Peace Accord and conduct their activities peacefully, while encouraging residents to exercise their constitutional rights without fear.
Disu further assured the people of Ekiti State of adequate security before, during, and after the election.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to protecting democratic values, maintaining public order, and ensuring peaceful elections across the country.
