The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued four kidnapped victims during an anti-banditry operation along the Mafara–Anka Road.

DSP Yazid Abubakar, Police spokesperson, says operatives of the Violence Crime Response Unit responded to intelligence that armed bandits had abducted commuters near Mai-Kwanugga Village.
He said the operatives engaged the bandits in a gun battle, forcing them to flee into the forest with suspected gunshot wounds and abandon the victims.
The rescued victims, all from Anka Local Government Area, have been reunited with their families.
The Command has urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support the fight against banditry.
