Microsoft’s Nigeria Office Has No Plan to Shutdown, Says Presidency

By Yusuf Olukokun

Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Bola Tinubu, has disclosed that Microsoft office in Nigeria has no plan to shutdown; and any story tilting toward that end is clearly untrue.

The Senior Special Assistant, made this known through his X(formerly Twitter) handle this afternoon, Thursday, May 9 2024, hammering basically on African Development Centre, a department within Microsoft office in Nigeria being moved.

However, he said: “Microsoft, like any other organisation, is only re-aligning roles within the business, and few roles will certainly be impacted. Affected staff, which are less than 30, will be asked to apply for new roles within Microsoft – a standard practice within the organisation.”

Analyzing further, he stated unambiguously that though, some workers who can not find a role in other departments or those who want to seek new opportunities elsewhere will be allowed to leave.

Temitope Ajayi maintained assertively that the situation at hand in Microsoft office is not anywhere near whatever Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Aspirant in 2023 elections, had insinuated.
