The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says it has recovered 19 stolen vehicles between January and February 2025.

SP Josephine Adeh, According to the Command’s spokesperson, the stolen vehicles were stolen from various locations within the FCT and later recovered in Jos, Niger, Kaduna, and within the territory itself.
According to the Breakdown of Recovered Vehicles by Division and Unit, Maitama Division, 1 vehicle, Mpape Division, 3 vehicles, Bwari Division, 1 vehicle, Central Police Station, 2 vehicles ,Trademore Division, 2 vehicles, Mabushi Division, 2 vehicles, Anti-Car Theft Unit, 1 vehicle, Utako Division, 2 vehicles, Gwarimpa Division, 1 vehicle, Durumi Division 2 vehicles and Kubwa Division – 2 vehicles
The FCT Police Command restated it’s committed to protecting residents and their property. In ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft, (CP) Olatunji Disu, Commissioner of Police urged the public to take proactive measures to secure their vehicles. He strongly recommended installing vehicle tracking devices to improve the chances of swift recovery in case of theft adding that, vehicle owners are encouraged to enhance security by using Steering wheel locks, Alarm systems and Immobilizers
Residents are also advised to avoid parking in isolated areas, stay vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement. The FCT Police Command assured the community of its unwavering commitment to curb Crimes and bring offenders to justice.
