 Protester Storm Lagos Despite Security Threat to Protest Against Economic Hardship

Protesters storm Lagos amid heavy security present for sensitization of the masses against the 27th and 28th Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) nationwide protest.

The take-off venue of the rally was at the NLC Lagos sub-headquarters office in Yaba, Lagos, kick-off time is 8:30 am but police were heavily deployed to the venue of the protest on Monday.

The protester started their rally from the Nigeria Labour (NLC) Secretariat at Yaba then proceeded to Ojuelegba before ending the rally at Maryland in Lagos.
The CSOs described the event as “protest rallies against the Tinubu government’s policies of hardship and hunger!” adding that “Freedom only cometh by struggle!”

The protest leaders said, This is not a one-time action but a build-up towards NLC’s February 27 & 28 protests and other subsequent mass actions, urging citizens to come out and test against the hardship in Nigeria.

The protest hashtag #EndHungerProtest and it was held in various regions across several parts of Nigeria on Monday.
