Troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 5 suspected kidnappers and recovered 2 AK-47 rifles in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.

Acting on credible intelligence, troops conducted a coordinated operation along a known criminal corridor in Magumeri, targeting a kidnapping syndicate linked to attacks on civilians.

The raid led to the arrest of 5 suspects and recovery of 2 AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition. Military sources said the operation disrupted the group’s ability to carry out further attacks.

Preliminary findings link the suspects to kidnapping and other criminal activities in parts of Borno. The arrested individuals are in custody and assisting security agencies to track other members and dismantle support networks.

The Nigerian Army said the operation reflects its commitment to safeguarding lives and property while sustaining offensive actions against terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.

“The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its mission to ensure lasting peace, security and stability across the country,” the statement added.
