Mai Mala Buni, Yobe state governor, has to reduce the cost of hiring tractors by fifty percent from N100,000 to N50,000.
Dr Mohammed Goje, Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), who disclosed the development, described it as part of the administration’s commitment to easing the burden on farmers and promoting increased agricultural production.
He said the 50 percent reduction in tractor hiring fees would enable more farmers to access mechanised farming services, cultivate larger expanses of land, and improve productivity during the current farming season.
According to him, the intervention is expected to lower the cost of cultivation, enhance food production, and contribute significantly to food security in the state.
