The mother of a prominent personality in Isata community, Isu, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has been rescued from kidnappers.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, revealed that the Operatives attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command foiled the kidnap attempt based on an intelligence report, with three suspects arrested while one member of the gang is still at large.
In a related operation, operatives of the Command also neutralised two suspected hoodlums during a raid on their hideout in Iyonu community, in Ishielu Local Government Area
“The operation, which was carried out within the Iyonu/Idodo Forest, followed credible intelligence on the activities of the gang terrorising the area. On sighting the operatives, the hoodlums opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire. At the end of the encounter, two of the suspects were neutralised. The following exhibits; one AK-47 rifle, two locally fabricated Dane guns, twenty (20) rounds of 9mm ammunition, and five (5) live cartridges were recovered from the scene”
The Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, while assuring Ebonyi State residents of the Command’s relentless commitment in the fight against criminality in the state, further stated that the suspects arrested will be charged to court after investigation.
