Osimhen Faces Salary Cut as Arsenal Pursuit Continues

By Jelili Gbadamosi

Arsenal have reportedly made it clear that Victor Osimhen will need to lower his salary demands if he wants to complete a move to the Premier League club this summer.

The Gunners remain interested in the Nigerian striker despite Galatasaray’s decision to retain him for the remainder of the transfer window.

According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal have opened discussions over a potential deal for the 27-year-old forward as manager Mikel Arteta continues his search for another attacking option.

However, the Premier League side is reportedly unwilling to offer Osimhen a package similar to his current earnings at Galatasaray, which are said to be worth more than €20 million annually.

Arsenal are also reportedly unwilling to make what they consider an unreasonable financial offer to secure the Nigerian international.

Osimhen must therefore decide whether to accept reduced personal terms to facilitate a move to Arsenal or remain at Galatasaray beyond the summer transfer window.

The striker is understood to be highly rated by Arteta, who wants to strengthen his attacking options before the transfer window closes on September 1.
