The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Chapter, has nominated Dr Tosin Adesile as the Ogun State Outstanding Youth of the Year 2025 (Education)” in recognition of his outstanding service, dedication and advocacy for youth development in the state.

The nomination was contained in an official letter dated August 21, 2026, signed by the State Chairman of NYCN, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi, and the State Secretary, Comrade Dotun Opaleye. The Council described the recognition as one reserved for individuals whose commitment, mentorship and selfless contributions have provided a foundation for the empowerment and progressive development of younger generations in Ogun State.

According to the letter, the formal presentation of the award will take place during the Council’s 2026 International Youth Day celebration scheduled for August 27, 2026, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, under the theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.” The event, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., is expected to attract more than 2,000 young leaders representing the 20 Local Government Areas and various youth organisations across Ogun State.

The ceremony will also feature the inauguration of 2,360 ward executives of the NYCN in the state.

The Council said Adesile’s recognition reflects his contributions to education, mentorship and youth development, describing his record of service as an example of leadership and commitment to the advancement of young people in Ogun State.

The award ceremony is expected to form part of activities marking the 2026 International Youth Day celebration in Ogun State.
