Mrs Bola Obasanjo, wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its present challenges and experience a positive transformation.

She made the remarks on Saturday in Abeokuta while receiving a delegation of the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
Bola Obasanjo described Nigeria as a country richly blessed with potential, expressing optimism that its fortunes would improve.
“Nigeria is a land flowing with milk and honey, and things will turn around for the better for us,” she said.
She also commended efforts towards hosting the World Public Relations Forum in Abuja in November, saying the international gathering would provide an opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritage, creative potential and contributions to responsible communication.
According to her, the event could help strengthen the country’s international reputation and support efforts to project a more positive image of Nigeria through global engagement.
She further encouraged the organisers to sustain their commitment to supporting young people, disadvantaged citizens and marginalised groups through their activities.
“You are doing this to encourage the youth, the less privileged, the downtrodden and the marginalised. When you serve humanity, you serve God, and Almighty God will not forsake you,” she said.
Earlier, the NIPR Ogun State Chapter Chairman, Mrs Oluwaseun Boye, explained that the visit marked the conclusion of the chapter’s roadshow to promote awareness of the forthcoming global forum and its signature end-of-year cultural event.
The World Public Relations Forum is expected to bring attention to Nigeria’s communication industry and provide a platform for engagement with international stakeholders.
