The National Counter terrorism centre (NCTC) office of the national security adviser is collaborating with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in combating terrorism financing networks to tackle the menace of violent extremism.
Major General Garba Laka, Director general of the centre disclosed this while receiving Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi, secretary-general of the islamic counter terrorism centre (IMCTC), Saudi Arabia, in Abuja.
He emphasised that cutting off terrorism financing is crucial for countries to make headway in fighting terrorism.
Major General Garba Laka also revealed that Nigeria has secured more than 200 convictions of terrorists and implemented rehabilitation and reintegration programmes for those found innocent.
