Barrister Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has extended Easter greetings to residents of Abuja, urging them to embrace the values of love, sacrifice, and service.

In his 2026 Easter message, Wike congratulated Christian faithful on the successful completion of the 40-day Lenten season, describing the period as one of reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal.

He noted that Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, offers an opportunity for renewed hope and a fresh commitment to nation-building.

The minister called on residents, particularly Christians, to rededicate themselves to the ideals of unity, compassion, and service to the country.

“As we celebrate, let us reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ and work together to build a peaceful and prosperous society,” he said.

Wike also assured residents of adequate security during the festive period, stating that the FCT Administration had put necessary measures in place to ensure a peaceful celebration.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that it has driven significant infrastructural development in the territory.

According to him, ongoing projects across the FCT are clear indicators of the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of residents and fostering economic growth.

The minister urged residents to celebrate responsibly and continue to uphold the values of love, kindness, and peaceful coexistence.

He wished all residents a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
