A member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos State, Shamsideen Adio, has beaten a dispatch rider to death in the Tapa Street, Lagos Island area of the state.
It was learnt on Thursday that a scuffle had ensued between Adio and the dispatch rider over allegations that the latter had scratched the former’s vehicle.
The Lagos Island NURTW top official by name “Shamelon” Shamsideen Adio (Real Name) did not leave any stone unturned when he mercilessly beat the dispatch rider to a pulp on Wednesday 17th day of September , 2025 in Tapa Street ,Lagos Island.
In the shameful act, he was joined by his other friends and colleagues to beat the poor guy.
It was gathered that he is so fond of beating Marwa operators to a pulp whenever they offend him.
According to the eyewitness, a similar incident happened a few days ago when he also dealt deadly blows to a marwa operator who ended up in the general hospital.
From findings, it was confirmed that the victim died from injuries sustained from the beating, and the suspect was, however, arrested following the incident.
The victim died from the injuries, and the suspect has been arrested, and a police source confirmed that he is now at the State Criminal Investigation Department,” the source said.
