Taraba state government has suspended seven school principals for going against the Governor’s efforts on free education policies.
After series of investigation conducted by a panel set up by Governor Agbu Kefa of Taraba state, it was proven that these principals were caught in some instances; collecting examination fees from students before being allowed to sit for WAEC and NECO.
However, the names of the affected principals were not made public, but the schools they were administering before suspension are: Government Day Secondary School Kofai in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area; Salihu Dogo Secondary School in Jalingo, and the Government Day Secondary School’s Kununi in Lau, LGA.
Other schools are: Government Day Secondary School Jouro Yinu in Ardo-Kola, Government Day Secondary School Kakulu in Zing; Government Science School Takum, and Government Day Secondary School Yakassai in Wukari.
According to reports, the government would not stop the investigation anytime soon, as they are willing to continue to checkmate principals frustrating the free education policies.
