Eight persons, including a baby girl, have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a storey building near Alakija Bus Stop along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway in Satellite Town, Lagos.

Emergency responders say 26 people have so far been rescued from the rubble, while more victims, including shop owners, may still be trapped beneath the debris.
Rescue operations are continuing with emergency personnel working tirelessly to locate and evacuate survivors. Those rescued have been handed over to medical teams for treatment.
Also, heavy-duty equipment, including excavators, has been deployed to aid debris removal and improve access to the site.
Meanwhile, authorities have appealed to residents to remain calm and stay clear of the area to allow rescue teams unhindered access to carry out ongoing operations.
