The Department of State Services,(DSS) has released Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa, Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bawa was released on Wednesday Night after spending 135 days in DSS detention.
The ex- anti-graft agency boss was suspended from office by President Bola Tinubu on 14 June, 2023.
That was contained in a statement by Willie Basse, Director of Information, SGF Office.
Basse said the suspension is to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.
The statement reads, “This follows weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.
“Mr Bawa has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.”
He was consequently arrested by the DSS after which he had been in detention until Wednesday night.
