The trial of Shehu Gabam, former National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for his alleged involvement in fraudulent activities, continues before the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone Two, Abuja.

Gabam, Chukwuma Ogbonna and Uchechukwu are alleged to have fraudulently converted 740 million naira party funds to personal use, contravening SDP party guidelines, for which they were expelled from the SDP.
Prosecution counsel, Sandra Agba, told the court they are still working to obtain a key exhibit relevant to the case.
Supreme Court verdict in May 2026 had effectively given effect to the leadership of Professor Sadiq Abubakar Gombe as SDP National Chairman.
